Terms and conditions
This webshop is owned by YAKKAY A/S (“YAKKAY” or “we”) and hosted on Shopify Inc.
YAKKAY retains the right to refuse any purchase request or order for legitimate grounds. Also, we do not ship to all countries or countries' regions. You can see a list of the countries we ship to under “We ship to”. If your country or region of destination is not on the list, you may contact us at email@example.com.
YAKKAY also retains the right to change or update information on our website at any time without any warning, e.g prices and descriptions which appear on the website.
Once you have placed an order, you will receive an email confirmation of the purchase. The email will include details of your purchase, including order number, purchased items, prices, your payment and shipping and billing address.
The amount debited by us will not exceed the amount stated in your shopping cart and your order confirmation.
The applicable VAT tax rate for EU countries is included in the prices in our webshop.
Deliveries to customers outside the EU are not subject to VAT but may be subject to import duties and taxes which are charged when the purchased items reach the country of destination. Such charges are your responsibility and must be paid by you. YAKKAY has no control when it comes to additional charges in relation to customs clearance. If you refuse your purchased items for this reason, custom authorities may charge YAKKAY an administration fee. In that case the fee will be deducted from your refund amount.
We do our best to process and ship orders as fast as possible. Orders are normally shipped within 1-4 working days.
Shipping to many EU countries, Norway and Switzerland can be done to access points or as home delivery, where you can choose between standard delivery or express delivery.
Shipping to some EU countries, mainly the Eastern European EU countries, and to UK and the rest of the World can only be done as home delivery. You can choose between standard delivery or express delivery.
Our shipping times differ depending on your choice of shipping method (see above) and your country of destination. You will see shipping times for your country of destination when you reach check-out and select your preferred shipping method.

Your shipping costs will be clearly displayed and included in the “Total cost” section at check-out.
Shipping to some islands is subjected to special shipping rates different from the rates that otherwise apply to the country of destination in question. If you are a customer from Reunion (France), The Canary Islands (Spain) or Madeira or the Azores (Portugal), please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We retain the right to refuse any purchase request or order where the special shipping rates are not accepted.

Returns and refunds
We offer you the possibility to return any item (other than gift cards) purchased from us. You have 30 days from the day of receipt to return the item to receive a refund. If the last day for exercising this right is on a weekend or public holiday, the deadline expires the following weekday.
Returned items should be unused, clean, with tags and in their original packaging. You will also need proof of purchase.
Please note that the return is at your own expense, unless the item is faulty, or a wrong item was delivered.
We do not accept gift card returns.
How to return:

- Package up your return securely (in original packaging if at all possible).
- Enclose proof of purchase and state the order number and your name, address and email.
- Mark the outside of the return package “RETURN OF INTERNET PURCHASED ITEM”.

You should send your return package to the address above and not to a shipping company's access point or post office as it will be returned to you if we do not receive the package at our address.
Keep hold of your receipt or tracking number for the return package, since the responsibility of the return is yours until it reaches us.
When we have received and processed your return, we will let you know by email if a refund is approved. If approved, you will be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Be aware that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund to you.
Please note that we do not refund shipping costs unless the item is faulty, or a wrong item was delivered.
We do our best to process refunds for returned items as fast as possible, usually within 5 working days. In holiday periods it can take a little longer.
How to make exchanges
For exchanges, we operate with the same 30 days period as we do for returns without exchange.
Customers from EU countries: In order to make an exchange, you return the purchased item(s). When we have received your return, we will send you the item(s) in the wanted different size free of charge.
Other customers: In order to make an exchange, you return and get a refund for the first purchased item(s) and place a new order for the wanted different size.
Faulty and wrong deliveries
If you have received a faulty item or a wrong item was delivered to you, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will offer you a replacement of the item or a refund of your purchase. As for your return, you should follow the instructions for returns under “Returns and refunds”. You should clearly state that the item is faulty, or a wrong item was delivered. We will refund your return costs.
Products purchased from us are covered by a two-year warranty. If you want to make a claim within the two-year warranty period, please contact us at email@example.com. Proof of purchase is required for claims. If we accept the claim, we will offer you a replacement. If the product is out of stock, we will refund the amount of the purchase. As for your return, you should follow the instructions for returns under “Returns and refunds”. You should clearly state that it is a warranty claim and what the claim is about. If we accept the claim, we will refund your return costs.
Customers from EU countries: If you find that your claim har been mistreated or we have not together reached a final solution, you can submit a complaint to the European Commission Online Dispute Resolution at http://ec.europa.eu/odr.
Gift Cards purchased from us (“YAKKAY Gift Cards”) will be delivered to the email address you specify during check-out.
YAKKAY Gift Cards are non-refundable and can only be used for purchases at yakkay.com, though not for purchase of another gift card. YAKKAY Gift Cards can be used for one or multiple purchases until its value runs out. Should you want to make a purchase for an amount that exceeds the (remaining) value of the YAKKAY Gift Card, you must pay the excess using another payment method. Returns of purchases made with a YAKKAY Gift Card will be refunded to the same gift card.
YAKKAY Gift Cards are valid for a period of 36 months from the date of the purchase, after which remaining balance will be removed, and the gift card will be invalid and no longer available for use.
Applicable law and legal venue
Disputes or claims associated with these Terms and Conditions will be subject to Danish law and shall be resolved by the Court of Copenhagen/the Eastern High Court of Denmark.
Amendment of Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right, at any time, to amend our Terms and Conditions. In that case, the amended Terms and Conditions can be read here. Amendments will not be retroactive. YAKKAY and customers will be bound by the version of Terms and Conditions which is online the day an order is placed.
