red.dot product design award 2010 to YAKKAY
The international “Red Dot Design Award” ranks amongst the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world.
The red dot is the award for high design quality. Only products that clearly stands out from comparable
products due to their outstanding design receive the award. This year 4.252 entries from 57 countries have taken part in the competition.

Gold award to YAKKAY
YAKKAY is awarded with the Gold award in the Focus Open Design 2009 competition in Stuttgart.
The award’s excellent reputation is reflected in the very high number of participants: 438 entries were received. Products were submitted from Europe, Asia and the United States.
The Judges panel statement:
A completely new approach. This is the first bicycle helmet you can really wear. It’s about fashion, being well-dressed, and humour. People who don’t want to cycle through town in cycling shorts and sporty helmets, but who want to look fashionable, at last have a chance to wear a bicycle helmet as well. It has already resulted in a lot more people wearing helmets in the countries where it has been introduced. So it has already proved that it is an important safety factor.

Smart One is from mid October available in size small (53-55 cm). The small helmet fits the very small heads even children (from approx. 6 years).

Yet another design award for YAKKAY helmet with international success.
Once again, Danish YAKKAY are at the top of the podium, as the winner of the Euro Bike award 2009 is announced, and it is not the first time the Danish bicycle helmet company is awarded for their innovative contribution to the helmet market.
During YAKKAY’s first year on the market, the helmet received the IF design Award as well as a nomination to the prestigious design award ”The Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2010”. Both are awarded for innovative and unique design of high quality.

YAKKAY wins international design award

Danish bicycle helmet wins international design award
The recently established Danish bicycle helmet manufacturer YAKKAY has received the international IF Design Award.
The award, which is given once every year in Germany and is judged by an international jury of 28 persons, is regarded as one of the most prestigious in the world.
"We're very proud of this award", says Michael Eide, CEO of the company, which produces fashionable bicycle helmets with covering that makes them look like caps or sunhats.
YAKKAY's helmets, which are created by a group of Denmark’s most acknowledged industrial designers, first caught international attention earlier this year when the rumour of their new trendy helmet spread like wildfire over the internet. "Within 24 hours we had 15.000 hits on our web site www.YAKKAY.com and an overwhelming amount of offers for international distribution", says Michael Eide.
Today, the company exports to a number of European countries and the demand is increasing rapidly.
"We have undoubtedly hit the right spot", he says. With the new design award in the can, it seems he might be right.
